The fight sees Nakatani (32-0, 24 KOs) fight in a division that is relatively new to him, as the former three-weight champion competes at super bantamweight for the second time. The 28-year-old moved up in December, beating Sebastián Hernández Reyes to set up this fight with Inoue.

That same night, Inoue (32-0, 27 KOs) outpointed Alan Picasso to fulfill his end of the deal with Nakatani, who now brings the 33-year-old “Monster” one of the most intriguing tests in his history.
