NEW DELHI: The Indian Premier League 2026 points table after the 27th match reflects a closely contested season. Punjab Kings lead with 9 points from five matches and remain undefeated.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals are close behind with 8 points each. Sunrisers Hyderabad have moved up to fourth place with 6 points, joining Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans in a mid-table group.
Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings are languishing at 7th place with just 4 points, and Kolkata Knight Riders remain winless at the bottom.
In the match in Hyderabad, Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Chennai Super Kings by 10 runs in a high-scoring encounter.
Powered by explosive knocks from Abhishek Sharma (59 off 22) and Heinrich Klaasen (59 off 39), SRH posted a formidable 194/9. His aggressive start, especially during the powerplay, set the tone despite regular wickets later.
CSK’s chase began quickly, with contributions from Ayush Mhatre and Matthew Short keeping them in contention. However, frequent wickets halted the momentum.
Eshan Malinga starred with three key wickets, while Nitish Kumar Reddy contributed two.
Despite a late push from lower order batsmen, CSK fell short at 184/8. SRH’s bowlers held their nerve in the death overs, sealing a crucial victory that elevated them to the top four and further affected CSK’s campaign.
