Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola spoke to the media ahead of Tuesday’s Premier League match against Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium (kick-off 19:30 GMT).

These are the key lines from his press conference:

  • Due to the rapid change after the Cherries’ 1-1 draw against Aston Villa, Iraola said it is “difficult to have the same starting 11” to face David Moyes’ Everton.

  • Bournemouth midfielder Ben Gannon-Doak, who last played for Iraola in November 2025, will begin running this week after suffering a hamstring injury while on international duty with Scotland.

  • Regarding Gannon-Doak’s injury, Iraola said: “He’s a little late, especially more so than Tyler (Adams) and Tav (Marcus Tavernier). He’s starting this week to run on his own. It’s an injury where we don’t want to take any risks, in the sense that he’s a very young player. We don’t just need him for these games, we need him for many years. In March is when we can start thinking about him.”

  • Iraola said he is “excited” to visit Hill Dickinson Stadium, but expects a “tough” game against the Toffees. “I’m looking forward to seeing the stadium and the atmosphere,” Iraola said.

  • Regarding Everton, Iraola added: “I hope we are at the same level because they are in a very good moment and it is going to be very demanding. Sometimes it is difficult to open the games against them so defensively, they are very solid. They are very strong in set pieces and they have three defenders who lead the aerial duels. I hope we can control the game and not give them so many opportunities to threaten our area.”

  • Bournemouth full-back Adrien Truffert has made 58 overlapping runs this season, the most of any player in the Premier League, but Iraola says his next “challenge” is adding more assists to his game. “He has a lot of presence in the final third and the volume is always there. Something similar happened with Milos (Kerkez). He arrived a lot and didn’t get assists,” added Iraola.
