(NASDAQ:UAL) announced on May 14 the expansion of its service offering to Japan, with new flights to Sapporo and Tokyo-Narita this winter. The airline said it will launch the first nonstop service from the continental United States to Sapporo, Japan, becoming the only U.S. airline to offer nonstop service between Chicago and Tokyo-Narita. It further reported that year-round daily service between Chicago and Tokyo-Narita begins in October, and seasonal service from San Francisco to Sapporo will run three times a week from December to March. United Airlines Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:UAL) now provides service between Tokyo and Narita from six of its seven continental US hubs.
In a separate development, Jefferies lowered the price target on United Airlines Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:UAL) to $112 from $118 on April 27, maintaining a Buy rating on the stock. The company told investors that removing five points from the schedules is “a continuation of its successful playbook” to focus on revenue and brand loyalty and let margins “take care of themselves.”
