Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala is getting closer to returning after recovering from the broken fibula he suffered during last summer’s Club World Cup.

Speaking at a fan club event on Sunday (via DPA), the Germany international revealed that Tuesday’s friendly against RB Salzburg comes too soon for him, but he hopes to return to action “in the coming weeks.”

“It’s not just my decision. If it were up to me, I would have already played last month. We’re just making sure he can be comfortable and fearless again,” said the attacking midfielder, who resumed training with the team shortly before Christmas.

“I have trained a lot and things are going very well. But we don’t want to rush either. We go session after session,” Musiala added.

In their first competitive match of 2026, Bayern Munich will face VfL Wolfsburg on January 11.
