When the closed wing of the New York giants, Theo Johnson, returned to the Scrimmage line, hugged Jaxson Dart and patted his rookie field marshal in the helmet.

There were two minutes and 29 seconds in the first start of the Dart NFL.

Thanks to the route under which Dart and Johnson had just connected, that beginning went overwhelmingly in the direction of an unlikely victory.

The pass was not a spectacular launch in the field, nor did it require defensive diagnostic layers. Like most Dart’s ends in the day, the final launch of the giants was simple enough to capitalize on a game plan designed to accentuate the tempo and the fast game.

But Johnson’s decision to stop his route in the middle of the field, instead of following the full path that the chief coach Brian Daboll had sought since he installed this play more than a decade ago, it was not a mistake.

On the other hand, it was a calculated Dart decision that reflected the comfort of the field marshal adding their own style to the New York giants.

“I said to (Johnson), just from the preparation of films and things, ‘If you see that open medium, just sit for me,” Dart said after bringing the giants to a 21-18 victory over a previously undefeated-angel chargers team. “It was a great time to see that happened in a great situation like that.”

The last point, Dart Rising to the occasion when the moment was brighter, did not surprise the coaches and teammates of the giants in a day when Dart did enough of what New York needed him, even if no one tried to call him perfect.

Dart relied on his mobility and legs with a frequency that teammates worried was not sustainable. In doing so, he caused and maintained enough offensive of the giants to deliver the franchise his first victory in four attempts this season.

The defense of the giants led the way, tormenting a chargers unit in three initial offensive linens for the sum of two interceptions, each returned to the 3 -yard line.

Dart incorporated that beginning with a game without billing, since it represented a touchdown of passes and hurried despite losing the star receiver Malik Nabers in the second quarter to which it is feared to be a torn acl.

The performance was not typical, it became the first rookie field marshal from Phil Simms in 1979 to overcome an undefeated opponent in week 4 or later in its first start of the NFL.

Nor was it typical, the giants knew that their quartback felt comfortable enough before starting a game to advise their closed wing to change a play: a Dart decision shared with his chief coach in the costume prior to the game.

But atypical movements could define the era of the dart in beginning number 2 and beyond. That would not surprise teammates and giant coaches.

“I think there is nothing in him that is typical for a rookie,” Johnson said after catching three passes for 17 yards and a Dart touchdown. “His balance, the way he can gather the troops. Everyone recovered behind him.”

Even Dart’s game style is atypical, said rookie Cam Skattebo.

“It has that dog that can fight a lot,” Skattebo told Yahoo Sports. “So I am proud of him and we will continue traveling.”

Giants d elevated game to support Dart in the first start

After Dart visited the lockers of his offensive linens and spoke with Russell Wilson, whom he replaced, and transported what seemed to be a hidden game ball under his arm for much longer than is, good, typical, Jameis Winston approached the Dart corner locker.

Winston helped out of the protective filling that tried to protect the rookie from the non -insignificant number of Dart Absorbed blows.

Winston encouraged Dart to celebrate the victory of mobility and drain for 24 hours, while acknowledging that a defense performance left a lot of space for the offensive to grow.

“We have to keep improving and he knows it,” Winston told Yahoo Sports after his conversation with Dart. “He wants to be the best. That is what he said.

“I said: ‘You will be. But we have to keep improving.'”

On Sunday, the giant record improved for the first time this year.

The squad that launched its first three competitions in several ways with Wilson under the center won a victory that was silenced to some extent for the knowledge of the careless plays and the Nabers injury.

Even so, a wave of hope flowed cautiously through the locker room after the game of the giants, the palpable energy of the 12 bumps of defense quartback and two interceptions, as well as the game of One-Owo Punch Run that Dart and Skattebo leveraged to maintain the defense of the chargers.

Consider the first impulse of the giants, when Dart and Skattebo ran eight times in front of a completed pass and a defensive pass interference advance.

Dart slipped the field up for nine yards in his first goalkeeper before hurrying for 15 and a touchdown to limit the impulse. The score marked the first opening driving touchdown of the giants at home since November 2022, according to the team’s records. And the leadership that the giants took with 4:17 to play in the first quarter would never evaporate.

That was thanks in large part to the defensive pressure of the giants and a tone established by the three times Linler of Pro Bowl Dexter Lawrence.

Lawrence proposed Justin Herbert’s pass for Tre Harris with 43 seconds to play in the first quarter, ensuring the tip for an interception that later ran through the left lateral line 37 yards before falling 3 yards below the final area.

The giant offensive could not take advantage of the visit of the red zone endowed and settle for a field goal. But they would have another opportunity to change that fortune in the third quarter. With 3:47 to play, Dru Phillips dived to select two and returned it to the 3 -yard line as did Lawrence.

This time, Dart found Johnson in a TouchDown Touchdown TouchDown.

Skattebo, who ended with 91 scrimmage yards in 27 touches, ran for two -point conversion.

In a short time, Daboll was pulling Dart’s forehead to his, hugging his first -round field marshal selected in celebration.

“He is the guy who believed in me since day 1,” Dart said. “When you have a coach who knows that it supports you, I will leave and do everything I can win.”

Dart’s debut game plan can be the beginning, instead of the final vision, for his mandate

Everything Dart could do to win, on Sunday, presented a wide matrix of passes games. Dart completed 13 of 20 pass attempts for 111 yards, while running 10 times for 54 yards.

He took five catches when limited clarity opened for him in the field.

Part of that reflected the unity of the defensive coordinator of the Chargers Jesse Minder that did not give Patrick Mahomes, Geno Smith or Bo Nix much easier when the angels beat each of the opponents of their division in the first three weeks of the season.

Part of that reflected the knee injury of the second quarter that required that the Nabers were transported in the second quarter with what was feared to be a torn acl.

And part of that was probably the Daboll and Co. game plan for Dart’s initial debut.

You don’t turn the ball. Do not try too much before getting used to the speed of the NFL game. Read the concepts that promoted your success in the university. And when things break the structure, do not be afraid to take off.

“We had to get a race designed early to be able to put the tone,” Winston told Yahoo Sports. “I love how decisive it was to run and reach north, north and south. I had (five) conversions for the first attempts with my feet, so that is very impressive. And I said: ‘You have to trust your feet.’

“When the work is not there, its athletic ability appeared.”

As the last minutes of a closed game progressed, Dart’s preparation appeared with his third attempt to finish Johnson in the adjustment that the rookie field marshal had called before the game and then executed during.

Against a New Orleans Saints 0-4 team next week, there will be opportunities for more. OPPORTUNITIES FOR MORE HACKS OF CINEMATOGRAPHIC STUDY AND OPPORTUNITIES STUDY GAMES AND MORE EVIDENCE OF COMPOSTURE When the impulse or game is at stake. Opportunities may also arise to change Dart’s style as its comfort grows, reducing the risk of injuries such as what seemed to be a minor injury in its hamstrings that was stretching and grabbing between a series and the next even while still playing.

The teammates admitted that, although Dart’s physicality promoted them, he also scared them. He would like to remember that sliding is a viable option and sometimes necessary.

But for now, the giants will celebrate go 1-0 this week, as well as their weekly goal. They will try to replicate it again next week, with the aim of going 1-0 in the week and 2-0 for Dart’s race.

“This is just a great trusted builder for us as a team to have a victory like this,” Dart said. “It was not easy, it wasn’t clean, and we had to fight. Like the other weeks.

“But this time, we end up.”
