Tuesday night brought some feared news for the Oregon Ducks fan base, with standout running back Jordon Davison listed as “out” for Friday’s Peach Bowl against the Indiana Hoosiers in the College Football Playoff semifinals, confirming some widespread speculation about a possible collarbone injury suffered by the freshman last week against the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

However, there was a silver lining for many Oregon fans, who noted that running back Jay Harris, who had announced his intention to enter the transfer portal, was not listed as out, as were the other players in the transfer portal. Did this mean Harris could still play after joining the team for Monday’s practice?

Well, based on Wednesday night’s availability report, that may still be the case. Harris is still not listed on the availability report, despite reportedly officially entering the transfer portal on Wednesday. Whether that means he’ll be able to play on Friday or not remains an important question.

If Harris can play, it would be huge for the Ducks, who are otherwise left with a pair of healthy scholarship RBs on the roster in Noah Whittington and Dierre Hill. At this point, however, it seems unlikely that we will get a definitive answer until warm-ups begin on Friday night before the game.
