With the team’s playoff hopes all but lost, the main story now is the health of Jayden Daniels. Daniels has dealt with multiple injuries this season and hasn’t played since early November.

It was thought the young quarterback would be shut out for the rest of the season, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. On Monday, head coach Dan Quinn provided an update and it appears that Daniels will try to play in Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings.
On Tuesday, Daniels was at Northwest Stadium to hand out turkeys to families in Prince George’s County. The star also took time to speak to the media and answered questions about his recovery.
“It’s a day-to-day process,” Daniels said of his recovery. “Just getting back into the rhythm and flow of things. When I’m healthy and ready to play, I want to be out there.”
Daniels will return to practice this week, but has not yet been cleared to contact him. Marcus Mariota is expected to start again in Week 13 as Daniels continues to recover.

“As a football player, you want to go out and play,” Daniels explained. “I’m a competitor. But right now, I’m taking it day by day and week by week.”
It would be more crucial for Daniels to return to the field if the team was in the midst of a playoff run, but that’s not the case this year, so the team may be cautious. At this point, the team just needs to get healthier and finish the season on a positive note.
Daniels was asked if he has been pitching and he confirmed that he has, which will have fans excited.
After the matchup with the Broncos, the team will face the Vikings and then the final four games will be against NFC East foes.
