BOSTON – At the moment, the Boston Celtics have no more talent than the New York Knicks. But on Tuesday night, they made efforts to make up for that disparity and defeated their Atlantic Division foes at TD Garden in a valiant 123-117 victory.

Boston had an 18-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, but it soon shrank and it felt like deja vu. Celtics fans will remember Team Green blowing multiple double-digit leads to the Knicks during the 2025 Eastern Conference Semifinals, a series in which they lost in 6 games. However, there was no replay on Tuesday, much to the delight of the TD Garden crowd.

The C’s held on down the stretch thanks to some clutch offensive rebounds from wing Jordan Walsh and timely baskets from star Jaylen Brown. In fact, Brown sealed the win with a wide-open dunk with 2.3 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

That basket gave him 42 points, which was enough to reach his season high. Walsh finished with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 1 block, while forward Mikal Bridges led the way for New York with 35 points in 34 minutes.

Following the gutsy victory, the Celtics have won four of their last five games and are 12-9 overall. This is the first time they have been three games over .500 all season.
