The Dallas Cowboys decided to bench wide receivers George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb for the first series of their Week 11 contest against the Las Vegas Raiders.

After the game, head coach Brian Schottenheimer didn’t offer many details other than to say there were “some things that Lamb and Pickens overlooked,” according to ESPN’s Todd Archer.
“There were some things that were overlooked, so I had a conversation with those guys and it was easy,” Schottenheimer explained.
On Tuesday, owner Jerry Jones was asked about the situation during his regular spot on 105.3 The Fan and revealed that the decision stemmed from an “internal issue” that “had to do with meeting-type discipline” and Lamb and Pickens “had a late issue there.”
The conclusion we would draw from this is that Pickens and Lamb were late to a team meeting, but we can’t say for sure. We’ll have to wait and see if more details emerge in the coming days.

What we do know is that the decision did not affect any of the players in the slightest.
Pickens went on to lead all Cowboys pass catchers with nine receptions for 144 yards and scored a touchdown. Lamb finished second in receptions (five) and receiving yards (66) and also scored a touchdown.
Maybe the Cowboys should bench Lamb and Pickens more often.
Joking aside, the win was huge for the Cowboys, who can’t afford to lose any games from here on out. They kept pace with the Philadelphia Eagles and are now in the No. 10 spot in the NFC playoff picture.
Now, the Cowboys will look to put together a winning streak in their Week 12 matchup against the Eagles.
