The animator of the University of Kentucky who allegedly gave birth in her room and then hid the newborn in a garbage bag in the closet went to McDonald’s after giving her baby.

Laken Snelling, 21, spoke with an officer of the Lexington Police Department while receiving medical treatment after his arrest, and provided details about his activities in the hours after his son’s birth.

This included a trip to the fast food restaurant, which took place just before their roommates called to inform that they had discovered a “blood soaked towel” on the floor of the Snelling room, according to the police.

Upon arriving at the house, the officers who responded discovered the body of a newborn baby wrapped in a towel and put a garbage bag that had been hidden in the Snelling closet.

Snelling returned home shortly after the police made that discovery and was arrested.

It was a few hours after his arrest and, upon receiving treatment at the Hospital of the University of Kentucky, Snelling chose to resign his rights of Miranda and talk to the police, according to a couple of affidavits of search order obtained by people.

One of those affidavits was presented on September 4 in search of access to ICloud from Snelling and the other on September 8 requesting permission to investigate their Facebook account.

Snelling said that at 4 in the morning of August 27, he gave birth “a baby who fell to the floor of his room,” according to the affidavits.

After giving birth, he remained awake for another 30 minutes before “falling on the baby and returning to sleep,” said the affidavits.

It is not revealed how long Snelling was asleep in the affidavits, but said that when he woke up, his newborn “turned blue and purple.”

Snelling told the officer that he later wrapped his baby with a towel “like a burrito” and that he lay down next to the newborn on the floor of his room.

She said this “gave him a little comfort at the time,” according to the affidavits.

Snelling later returned to sleep until his alarm shot at 7:30 am, said the affidavits, at which time he cleaned the blood and childbirth in his room, placed the baby wrapped in a towel in a garbage bag and his placenta “inside a closing bag”, which he also threw on the garbage bag.

Then, he left home with the intention of going to class, according to the affidavits, until he changed his mind.

“Laken declared that he did not enter class, but sat in his vehicle in the parking lot. Mrs. Snelling declared that she did not feel good, so she ordered McDonalds through the McDonalds application,” wrote Captain Matthew Carrier in both affidavits.

“Mrs. Snelling said that after obtaining McDonalds, she went to the Student Clinic of the University of Kentucky where she did not enter. After this, Mrs. Snelling declared that she returned home where she was arrested and transported to the headquarters to interrogate us.”

A few days later, the police accused her of abuse of a body, manipulating physical evidence and hiding the birth of a baby.

It was admitted to jail, but released with a bail bonus of $ 100,000.

Then, the judge signed Snelling that he was put in house arrest without electronic monitoring in his family home in Tennessee before his trial.

The positions aligning could be removed or confirmed when their case is presented to a large jury, a measure that accepted during an appearance in the Court last week when he renounced his right to a preliminary hearing.

There could also be an aggregate murder position depending on the autopsy report.

The Forensic doctor said in a statement last month that additional evidence is needed to determine the cause of the death of the newborn after the results of the initial autopsy showed not being conclusive.
