The Los Angeles Lakers have been doing well since their three-game losing streak in late February.

The 17-time NBA champions have won four of their last five games and will look to extend their winning streak to five on Saturday afternoon when they take on the New York Knicks at Crypto.com Arena.
Unfortunately for second-year combo guard Bronny James, he received disappointing news from the G-League ahead of the Lakers’ marquee matchup against the Jalen Brunson-led Knicks.
“The Lakers have assigned guard Bronny James Jr. and forward Adou Thiero to the South Bay Lakers,” OC Register’s Benjamin Royer reported on X/Twitter on Saturday.
James may have expected to spend a brief stint in the G-League in Year 2, but it’s unlikely he anticipated he’d bounce back and forth between the major leagues and minor leagues all season long.

Although James is shooting 41.4% from deep with the Lakers this year, the sample size is small (12 of 29), making it difficult to determine if the USC product is truly progressing as a perimeter shooter.
It doesn’t help that James is only connecting on 21.2% of his long-range jumpers in the G-League so far. At the end of the day, James hasn’t proven himself worthy of playing regularly for JJ Redick’s Lakers (38-25), forcing the organization to send him to the South Bay once again.
