The first quarter was sloppy as each team missed a pair of field goals and remained scoreless until the final minute, when Tad Hudson found Dominic Knicely for a 20-yard score to put the Chanticleers ahead 7-0.

Just before the two-minute warning, the Bulldogs finally got on the board with a 42-yard field goal by Kaegan Kant to make the score 7-3. However, Coastal responded quickly as Hudson scored his second touchdown of the half, this time connecting with Roddy Waahington as the Chants held a 14-3 lead at the half.

In the second half, it was all LA Tech as John Hoyet Chance drove 51 yards to cut the lead to 14-6 before a pair of touchdowns to open the fourth quarter, one of them a 52-yard throw from Trey Kukuk to Marlion Jackson and then a short Andrew Burnette run that was set up by a big Kukuk run gave the Bulldogs the lead in the quarter.

Kant added a second field goal in the final minute to score and the Bulldogs earned a 23-14 victory in Shreveport over Coastal Carolina.

This was LA Tech’s last game as a member of Conference USA, as the Bulldogs will join the Sun Belt starting in 2026.
