Parker’s landing spot is undoubtedly tied to new Buckeyes wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton. Hankton held the same position at LSU for four seasons and recruited Parker out of high school.

Fans can look at Parker’s quiet career to date (34 catches, 385 yards and five touchdowns in three seasons) and assume he’s not a major addition for Ohio State. Despite his lack of production, Parker looks like he could have a career year with the Buckeyes.
Although the stat sheet might not show it, Parker had a case to be the Tigers’ top receiver in 2025. He didn’t get many looks, partly due to his limited role in former offensive coordinator Joe Sloan’s scheme, and partly due to a poor passing game overall. However, in the few games in which Parker appeared, the Tigers’ offense looked better than it had all season.
Lane Kiffin and his staff have done a great job adding talented receivers through the portal, but if Parker has his breakout season in Columbus instead of Baton Rouge, it will hurt.
