Pep Guardiola’s recruitment team is scouring the market for right-back signings as the Citizens search for a long-term replacement for Kyle Walker.

Walker left Etihad in the summer after eight seasons at the club, and Rico Lewis and Matheus Nunes have largely filled the role since then.
City are looking for a more specialized right-back and Read is a player on the club’s radar.
The 19-year-old is the latest exciting product of Feyenoord’s academy and has already made 48 appearances for the Dutch team. Ahead of the 2025/26 season, coach Robin van Persie named him the club’s third captain, behind Sem Steijn and Anis Hadj Moussa.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that City are monitoring their performances, although they face competition from Bayern Munich. The German champions have already expressed their interest and have held talks with the playing team.
City also admire Newcastle United full-back Tino Livramento. However, a deal for the defender appears difficult due to the length of his contract and Newcastle’s reluctance to sell.
