Mark van Bommel would be interested in the work of vacancies, according to the journalist and transfer informant Ben Jacobs. The Rangers separated from Russell Martin last night after 17 games by the Ibrox Club and are now looking for a new manager. Van Bommel is available after having been out of work since he left Royal Antwerp in 2024. The Dutch won the Belgian Pro League at the end of the 2022-23 campaign and approached Light Blues during the summer before Martin obtained the work.
The Rangers are looking for their fifth permanent boss in a little less than three years and are currently preselecting candidates, and several names are being discussed. Van Bommel also won the Belgian Cup and the Belgian Super Cup in 2023, being appointed as the Belgian professional manager of the season and winning the Belgian Golden shoe for the coach of the year at the end of that campaign. He began his management career in Eredivisie with PSV Eindhoven before a period in the Bundesliga with VFL Wolfsburg, and could be perfect for the Rangers.
