It was a very ugly victory for the Chicago Bears on Sunday, but a rewarding victory anyway. The bears avoided a 1-3 start and somehow recovered to a 500 record.
Here are my 5 conclusions of the Bears’s victory against the Raiders:
Rome Odunze’s work season continues
The Touchdown streak of Rome Odunze continues, since it has been one of the most reliable players of the Bears in this team. Death, taxes and a Touchdown of Rome Odunze seem to be the only safe things. Rome Odunze continues to make that leap in its second year. Taking it with the tenth general selection is finally aging with grace. Until now, in the season, Odunze has 296 yards they receive and the second TouchDowns more receptors in the NFL with 5. Caleb Williams and Rome’s Connection looks as one of the best in the NFL at the beginning of the year 2 for both young stars.
Young cup played well
No Braxton Jones, not Darnell Wright and the Bears still find a way to win. Winning without its two initial cup shows immense growth in this offensive line and this depth provides to be encouraging. Ozzy Trapilo entered the right Tackle in the second half and defended himself against Maxx Crosby. In 40 Snaps, Trapilo only gave 2 years of quartback. The rookie looked quite impressive, even with how dominant Crosby was early in this game. The combination of Theo Benedet and Trapilo seemed to stop Crosby enough to win.
Caleb Williams was great in the clutch
Caleb was not great, all of this game against the Raiders as if it were against Dallas. However, it was great in the winning unit of the game, when the Bears needed to be the most. In the last two minutes of the middle of this season, Caleb Williams has a statistics line of 8-11, 102 aerial yards, 2 pass touchdowns and a passer rating of 140.9. Caleb Williams has been clutch since Chicago has stepped on. Caleb showed him again against Vegas. He was 4/5 on the last trip, passing for 42 yards and escaped out of pocket for 18 more yards. Something for which the Bears have been yearning. Justin Fields was a special talent, but in Crunchtime there always seemed to be a turnover, or would take a sack of killing. Until now, Caleb Williams has fulfilled the criteria of having ice in his veins.
D’A andre Swift was not great, but it was a clutch
It was another game where the Bears could not run football. D’Adre Swift has not yet had a dominant game so far. However, in the fourth quarter and during the last trip he made moves to help the Bears driving through the field. He scored the TouchDown that put the Bears on the Raiders. Swift as the main type might not be the route for Bears to have a successful career game. If Swift is used as a secondary option and a game creator, it can be more effective. From now on, as long as I make plays to win the Bears game, that’s all important.
Josh Blackwell is one of the most shocking special team players in the NFL
