Michigan State female basketball is preparing for the beginning of the 2025-26 season, the third of Robyn Fralick in East Lansing. The Spartans have made the tournament and improved year after year during the first two seasons under Fralick.
Seeking to see another step in improvement, raising to an NCAA tournament the second weekend and a race in a Big Ten championship, the Spartans are looking for their veteran leadership to lead the way. Well, the first step has been made to determine the true leaders of this team.
The state of Michigan has appointed its captains for the next season, naming the Seniors Abbey Kimball and Grace Vanslooten as captains of this team.
Vanslooten is entering his second season with the program, after transferring Oregon. In 2024-25, he played in 31 games, starting 23, while he was the first in the team in annotations, averaging 15.5 points and adding 7.3 rebounds per game.
Kimball is a four -year -old player with the program as a guard, averaging 5.3 points per game during his career.
