The San Francisco Giants are having a tough time this season. At 13-19, the Giants are last in the NL West, even behind the Colorado Rockies.

Things aren’t going great, and if they don’t turn around soon, they could end up as sellers at the MLB trade deadline. If they sell, there are some interesting players who could sell.
An MLB executive predicted to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand that the $12 million infielder the Giants just signed last offseason, Luis Arráez, would be traded this season.
Giants expected to trade Luis Arráez at deadline
“As part of our annual first-month executive survey, we asked 20 front office members who they thought would be the biggest name moved before the August 3 trade deadline,” Feinsand writes. “…Luis Arráez, Gigantes (1 vote).”

Although Arráez received only one vote, that single vote is still noteworthy. If an MLB executive predicts that Arráez could be on the move, there’s a seemingly real chance he could be traded this year.
The Giants have a poor record this season, and if things don’t improve before the deadline, trading Arraez at the deadline might not be the worst decision.

He is only under contract for the 2026 season, so the Giants could find a contender who needs help at second base and who can acquire Arráez for a decent return.

While the 29-year-old won’t bring a huge return for the Giants, as far as rentals go, he would be great for a contender. He’s hitting .303 this season and has actually been playing great defense at second base.
This MLB executive predicts that Arráez could be traded at this year’s trade deadline, and with how bad the Giants have been, it’s not out of the possibility that he’ll be on a new team by early August.
