Mondragon Assembly has acquired ATP Engineering & Packaging, a company based in Barberà del Vallès, Barcelona, Spain.
Financial details of the deal remain undisclosed.
ATP has specialized in the design and production of packaging machinery and full-line solutions for approximately 30 years and has 60 employees.
The agreement allows Mondragon Assembly to expand its business portfolio by entering the food packaging market, with a special focus on equipment for picking and packaging processes.
ATP’s current business spans the food, hygiene, cosmetics and household goods industries.
Its offering includes automatic packaging systems, multi-format cartoning and boxing machinery, as well as engineering services for plant logistics.
ATP generates annual sales of around 12 million euros ($14.1 million), and about half of its revenue comes from exports, mainly within Europe.
Following the acquisition, ATP will benefit from the resources, international presence and management structure of the Mondragon Assembly group.
In turn, Mondragon Assembly gains a platform with established customer relationships and technical expertise in food packaging as it continues its diversification efforts.
Mondragon Assembly CEO Mikel Gantxegi said: “We will do everything in our power to ensure that this partnership contributes to a lasting legacy of innovation and sustainable prosperity for all future generations involved in this joint project.”
As part of Mondragon Corporation, Mondragon Assembly operates a global network with production facilities and subsidiaries, as well as maintaining sales offices in the US, India and Tunisia.
In 2025, Mondragon Assembly recorded a turnover of 120 million euros, of which almost 80% was generated in international markets. It employs more than 650 people worldwide.
“Mondragon Assembly buys ATP to enter food packaging market” was created and originally published by Packaging Gateway, a brand owned by GlobalData.
