Having recently recovered from a previous injury, the striker returned to action in a high-pressure situation as Morocco attempted to turn the final around. But a few minutes after entering the field, he collapsed in pain, forced to leave the field crying and leaving his teammates one man less.
Regragui’s diagnosis was discouraging:
“Hamza Igamane, I think he has suffered a torn cruciate ligament. It is not related to his previous injury. I wish him a speedy recovery. He could be out for another six months this season.”
A hard blow for the player, Morocco, and Lille CSO.
