The NCAA men’s and women’s tournaments are halfway through their first weekend. There haven’t been many major surprises on either side yet, but there’s still plenty of time for chaos. All the chalk hasn’t stopped most brackets from breaking either.

So who is headed to the Sweet 16? Follow along as teams get their tickets for the second weekend of each tournament.

Michigan (Midwest Region No. 1)

Round of 64: beat Howard 101-80
Round of 32: beat San Luis 95-72

Yaxel Lendeborg scored 25 points as the top-seeded Wolverines beat the No. 9 Billikens to continue an NCAA tournament streak that dates back to 2017. Michigan has reached the NCAA tournament seven times in the last decade. He reached the Sweet 16 in those seven appearances. —Nick Bromberg

Michigan State (East Region No. 3)

Round of 64: beat North Dakota State 92-67
Round of 32: beat Louisville 77-69

All-Big Ten point guard Jeremy Fears Jr. led the Spartans with 12 points and 16 assists against a Louisville team clearly lacking injured All-ACC Mikel Brown Jr. Fears’ 16 assists matched the total produced by the entire Louisville roster. They were the most ever by an MSU player in an NCAA tournament. —Jason Owens
