After news of the transaction broke, Sanders took to social media to share a final message with the team, his teammates and the fans who supported him.
“To the Miami Dolphins organization, coaches, staff and teams, after eight incredible years in Miami, it is difficult to put into words what this journey has meant to me. I have loved every moment of being a Dolphin and am grateful to have called Hard Rock Stadium my home for the past 8 years,” Sanders wrote.
“To the fans, thank you for your support over the years and all the memories I will never forget. As this chapter in South Florida comes to a close, I look forward to what’s next. Ends Up!”
Sanders made 84.6% of his field goals (187 of 221) and 96.6% of his extra points (259 of 268). He was also named All-Pro in 2020. His 187 field goals made were the second most in franchise history, behind only Olindo Mare, who made 245 with a field goal percentage of 80.9%.
