Coach Sirianni may not be the man with the He is a leader of men. He’s sterner than he thinks he is, but he also knows when to hug a guy.
AJ Brown is under the microscope and some of the criticism is justified. You can’t ask for the ball more often and not make plays when the ball comes your way.
Now, in defense of Brown. There are certainly other things at play. Their quarterback is struggling and defenses have set their sights on him in light of Saquon Barkley’s struggles.
Brown’s hands are often praised, but lately the falls have been piling up. The criticism continued, but, as he always does, Nick Sirianni stepped in to defend the three-time All-Pro, one of the best receivers not only in Philadelphia, but in the entire league.
“That’s just unusual. I don’t know if AJ has had a drop in the last 2 years. I don’t know what the stat sheet will say that he had, but it’s just unusual.”
He’s right, you know? If the numbers are correct, Brown has not recorded a drop since Week 15 of the 2023 NFL season, Christmas of that calendar year. Brown doesn’t just have good hands. It makes impossible catches look routine. He will recover from this.

The exact reasons we love him are the same reasons he sometimes irritates us. He wears his emotions on the surface, but it is his emotions that make him who he is. He is not the same person or player without them.
Still, drops on Monday Night Football resulted in an interception and missed opportunities to score touchdowns. The three-time All-Pro knows it. Don’t worry. He will fix that. Coach Syrianni is not worried. We are neither.
Here’s our bold prediction: ten receptions and at least one touchdown against the visiting Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.
