“We’ve connected on a GroupMe app, and there’s quite a few of us on there, and it’s not the same story, but there are a lot of similarities, where we’re a lot more similar than we thought. The conversations and chats, and it’s been great,” Jones said, “So they’re going to come and support, and I think we’ll have quite a few of them. I’m really excited that the moms group is working together, and it’s been nice.”
Worthy has accomplished many notable accomplishments in his young NFL career, starting with his impressive performance at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine.
“Yeah, I feel like I’ve been watching him his whole life, and it’s such a beautiful thing for me to see the rest of the world see what I’ve already seen, and what a lot of people close to Xavier, especially here in Fresno (California), have already seen,” Jones said, “I wrote this note to him because I like to send him little positive notes every time I’m there, and I know it’s going somewhere. So I was there the week before the (NFL scout). Combine, and I put a little note in her bag as she left Arizona to head to the Combine. He just said, ‘Go show the world who Xavier G. Worthy is.’ “It was this pretty little card.”
Worthy ran a 4.21-second 40-yard dash, breaking the NFL Scouting Combine record previously held by John Ross, who had run 4.22 seconds in 2017.
“He came out and did exactly what I felt like he was going to do, like I had text messages from him too, telling me he was going to run a four or two. I was like, Okay, well, do it. How’s training going? You know? It’s just always been that way,” Jones said, “I hate to say I’m used to it, but I love it. It makes me smile when I see other people in awe. And I’m like, Yeah, I’ve been living with this guy, this little guy, for 22 years, and he’s been surprising me all of them. And you can see it now, I can share it.”
