Before this matchup, First Things First on FS1 had Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen on their show and asked him which of these teams wants to win.
Allen revealed whether he is rooting for the Seahawks or the Patriots, and while his answer is as expected, there is a fun reasoning for this choice by Allen.
Bills’ Josh Allen reveals who he supports in Super Bowl 60
“Sam Darnold, that’s my guy. We go back to the () Draft, even before the draft, we were together before the draft when we were in college,” Allen said. “We live very close together. We spend a lot of time together during the offseason playing golf and hanging out. I’m rooting for my man there, No. 14 of the Seattle Seahawks.”
Allen is rooting for the Seahawks to beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl. Given that Allen is the Patriots’ AFC East rival, it’s not a surprise to see Allen on Seattle’s side.

But the reasoning is what makes their deep-rooted interest feel much more rooted than simply based on rivalries within the division.
Allen and Darnold are friends, both quarterbacks come from the 2018 NFL Draft class and live near each other. During the offseason, the two hang out often, as Allen indicates, making their deep interest very clear.

The connection between Allen and Darnold is real. His comments on First Things First not only reveal his deep interest in the Seahawks and Patriots Super Bowl, but also the strong connection he has built with Darnold over the years.

Allen’s strong interest in Super Bowl 60 is an easy decision. While he respects Mike Vrabel, Drake Maye and the Patriots, they are a division rival and he has a friendship with Darnold that made his decision very easy.
