Official of the United States Department of Justice ordered that the investigation into the demand of Sandy Hook against Alex Jones

The attached attorney general Todd Blanche ordered a senior official of the United States Department of Justice who abandons an investigation into the participation of an FBI agent retired in a demand for defamation that involves Alex Jones’ conspiracy theories about the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, a person familiar with the matter on Wednesday.

Ed Martin Jr., who directs the “Weapon Working Group” of the Department of Justice, sent a letter dated September 15 to the lawyer of the families of Sandy Hook who requested information about former FBI agent William Aldenberg, who responded to the 2012 school and was a plaintiff in the law Massacre A Hoax.

Martin’s letter suggested that he was investigating whether Aldenberg broke a federal law by receiving financial benefits for helping to organize demand. Jones, who said he met Martin last week in Washington, accused Democrats and officials of the Department of Justice to orchestrate the lawsuit to silence him.

But Martin’s correspondence with Christopher Mattei, a lawyer for the families of Sandy Hook, and Aldenberg, “caused frustrations” within the Department of Justice, and Blanche ordered Martin to withdraw the letter, said the person familiar with the matter, who spoke under condition of anonymity to discuss matters of internal agencies.

Mattei said he received a new Martin letter on Wednesday that he said that there were no investigations from Aldenberg and “therefore withdraw my request for information.”

“Less than 18 hours after calling Alex Jones and Ed Martin for their corrupt use of the Department of Justice to harass the families of Sandy Hook and the heroic FBI agent who ran into that school to save any son I could, I am happy to know that this so -called investigation has now retired, if it ever existed at all,” Mattei said in a statement.

Martin, who has been examining the claims of President Donald Trump of an anticonvative bias within the Department of Justice, has sent letters to a series of objectives in other unrelated issues, seeking information or making appeals. But it is not clear if such requests have promoted something.

Jones published a copy of the September 15 letter on his account X on Tuesday, saying “Breaking! The work group of the Department of Justice on the government weapon against the US people has launched an investigation into the Democratic Party / FBI that directs the illegal law against Alex Jones and Infowars.”

The shooting at school in Newtown, Connecticut, on December 14, 2012, killed 20 first -degree students and six educators. Jones, based in Austin, Texas, repeatedly called him a hoax and pressed false statements that he was organized by crisis actors in an effort to increase weapons control. Infowars host then said he thought the shooting was “100% real.”

In the 2022 defamation trial in Connecticut, Aldenberg and the relatives of many of the victims testified about being subjected to threats and abuse by people who believed the theories of conspiracy of Jones about the shooting.

Aldenberg was among the agents of the law that responded to school, and broke while testified during the trial on the search for dead children and teachers.

Aldenberg did not respond to the messages that remained in a telephone number and email addresses found in public records.

Jones recently asked the United States Supreme Court to listen to his appeal of the sentence of $ 1.4 billion. It is also appealing a sentence of $ 49 million in a similar demand in Texas presented by two other parents of a child killed in Newtown. He has cited freedom of expression and press rights in both cases.

It was declared in bankruptcy at the end of 2022. Sandy Hook’s plaintiffs are now trying to liquidate Infowars assets in state judicial procedures in Texas. Some of Jones’ personal belongings are also sold as part of the case of bankruptcy.

Martin has been serving as head of the “Weapon Weapon Working Group” of the Department of Justice since his nomination for the main federal prosecutor in Washington was taken in the midst of bipartisan concerns about his modest legal experience and his defense for the rufflers of January 6.

Attorney General Pam Bondi created the group to analyze the issues in which conservatives have affirmed that they were unjustly attacked or treated.

Martin was also recently appointed a special prosecutor to help conduct separate investigations of mortgage fraud to the New York Democratic attorney, Letitia James, and the United States senator, Adam Schiff.
