On that note, the Buckeyes have been quite active in attracting Columbus’ needs to change its favorite colors to scarlet and gray over the past few days, and that continued Thursday. Ohio State not only landed cornerback Cam Calhoun from Alabama, but followed up with another SEC coup, with Georgia cornerback Dominick Kelly announcing his transfer to OSU. Lettermen Row (subscription required) was the first to break the news.

Kelly didn’t play much for the Bulldogs last season, but he is a former 4-star player who has some upside. More importantly, he is a young player who should provide some depth and develop into Matt Patricia’s defense. He had just three tackles and three pass breakups (unofficial) last season, but getting players to compete for a spot in the rotation with the loss of Bryce West and Aaron Scott Jr. is pretty important as Ohio State looks to rebuild structure and depth on the back end of the defense next year.
The entire Buckeye Nation would like to welcome Kelly aboard as part of the Buckeye brotherhood. He makes the 15th transfer portal commitment to Ohio State as he continues to reshape the roster in today’s people-moving world of college football.
