Ohio State remained atop the College Football Playoff standings for the second straight week Tuesday night, while Indiana remained in the No. 2 spot despite barely edging out a win last week, while third-ranked Texas A&M remained quiet.

Alabama and Georgia rounded out the same top five as last week’s season-opening rankings.

Texas Tech jumped two spots to No. 6, moving one notch ahead of Mississippi, which fell to No. 7 despite a win over Citadel in a non-conference game.

The biggest changes came in the standings, where Miami moved up three spots to No. 15 and overtook Georgia Tech to claim the Atlantic Coast Conference spot in the 12-team group. And South Florida earned the 24th seed, which brings with it the 12th and final seed in the projected Week 2 bracket.

At number 8 was Oregon, followed by Notre Dame and Texas.

No. 11 Oklahoma and No. 12 BYU would be the first two teams eliminated in this week’s bracket due to the automatic spots given to the ACC (Miami) and the Group of 5’s top-ranked league leader (South Florida).

The final bracket comes out on December 7, and the 12-team playoff begins on December 19 and closes a month later with the title game.
