The Boston Red Sox wasted no time after missing out on Alex Bregman. After being snubbed for their third baseman, the Boston Red Sox pivoted Wednesday and reportedly agreed to a five-year, $130 million contract with starter Ranger Suarez, according to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale.
Suárez, 30, is coming off a season in which he posted a 3.20 ERA in 157 1/3 innings with the Philadelphia Phillies.
Suárez entered the offseason as one of the best free agent pitchers available.
