Penn State’s roster turnover continues to welcome players familiar with head coach Matt Campbell. Penn State received another transfer portal commitment from Campbell’s former program, Iowa State, on Sunday with a commitment from defensive back Jeremiah Cooper.

Cooper is coming off an injury-plagued 2025 season, but has been a star player for the Cyclones in previous years. Cooper was a first-team All-Big 12 player in 2023 and received honorable mention All-Big 12 recognition in 2024. Cooper will have one final year of eligibility upon his arrival.

Cooper joins a transfer class that includes former Syracuse cornerback Ibn McDaniels and safeties Chris Fileppo (West Virginia), Omarion Davis (Boston College), Hunter Sowell (Iowa State), Marcus Neal Jr. (Iowa State) and Jamison Patton (Iowa State).

Penn State is also losing several players to the transfer portal this offseason. Departing defensive secondary players include safety Dejuan Lane (Tennessee), Kolin Dinkins (Temple) and King Mack (NC State). There are also several players still in the transfer portal: cornerbacks AJ Harris and Kenny Woseley Jr., and safety Lamont Payne Jr..

The NCAA transfer window closes this Friday, January 16.
