During that time, he has established himself as England’s number one. Pickford has won 80 caps for the Three Lions and has participated in four major tournaments.
Discussing his decision to extend his contract at Everton, Pickford said he wants to “build a legacy”.
“I’m delighted,” he told evertontv. “Delighted to do it – it’s two extra years, so four years in total. I’m delighted and it gives me the opportunity to build a legacy for myself here, move forward and build this Club to where we want to be.
“Everton is a really special club for me. Coming from Sunderland as a lad and growing up here as a man, it has been a special time for me and my family.
“I think everyone has seen the changes and how I have developed over time, but I am still that boy who loves to keep the ball out of the net. “It has been Everton who have helped me develop and I have worked hard as well.
“It always felt like something natural to me, with the fans and the passion – it’s second to none and something I love.
“It’s been a great journey so far.”
