Things are moving quickly with news breaking Wednesday that Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore was fired by the University for cause on Wednesday. Shortly after, multiple reports now confirm that Moore has been detained by police for an unknown investigation.

We know Moore was fired from Michigan because an investigation led to evidence that he had an inappropriate relationship with a staff member, but that’s all we really know at this point. According to ESPN’s Dan Wetzel and Pete Thamel, Moore was detained by police in Saline, Michigan, a town outside of Ann Arbor, on Wednesday, who then turned him over to the Pittsfield Township Police Department for investigation into possible charges.

Police told the Detroit News there was “an incident on Wednesday that required police attention.” According to online public records, Moore was booked into jail at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in Washtenaw County, Michigan.

We will continue to follow this story. As things work through the legal system, many things will become public.
