PPAP Automotive has signed a technology partnership with France-based Hutchinson to manufacture advanced body sealing systems for passenger vehicles in India.
Under the agreement, PPAP will manufacture, market and sell automotive-specific sealing products in India using Hutchinson’s technology, licensed know-how and technical support.
Production will take place at PPAP’s existing facilities in the country.
PPAP Automotive Managing Director and CEO Abhishek Jain said, “By combining Hutchinson’s global expertise with PPAP’s strong manufacturing presence and customer relationships in India, we aim to deliver high-quality, innovative and future-ready body sealing solutions that meet the evolving requirements of automotive OEMs.”
The company said it has obtained an exclusive license for India for the manufacturing, marketing and sale of designated automotive sealing products developed through Hutchinson’s technology and expertise.
As part of the partnership, Hutchinson will provide technical expertise, engineering assistance, design support, process-related guidance and other services for product development and commercialization.
The agreement entered into force on April 1, 2026.
PPAP will make payments linked to the transfer of technical knowledge, licensed technology and related technical support services.
The company will also pay royalties for the use of intellectual property, designs, know-how and associated rights licensed under the agreement.
According to company disclosure, Hutchinson generated revenue of approximately €5 billion ($5.76 billion) in 2025.
PPAP said the collaboration is expected to expand its automotive sealing systems offering, provide access to advanced technology and engineering capabilities, strengthen support to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in India and create additional growth opportunities in the passenger vehicle segment.
Hutchinson Asia Senior Vice President Frédéric Le Du added: “By combining PPAP’s strong industrial presence and deep understanding of local OEM expectations with Hutchinson’s expertise in high-performance multi-material and critical engineering systems, this collaboration will support the evolving needs of passenger vehicle manufacturers in India with reliable and competitive body sealing solutions.”
