Sean McVay must really be fed up with his special teams unit, which has been problematic all year. On Saturday, the Los Angeles Rams fired special teams coordinator Chase Blackburn.

Blackburn was signed by the Rams in 2023, but will not complete his third season with the team after being released on Saturday. Their unity has been an issue all year, costing the Rams a win over the Philadelphia Eagles when Joshua Karty had two field goals blocked.

Against the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night, the Rams allowed a punt return for a touchdown and Harrison Mevis missed a 48-yard field goal that would have given Los Angeles the lead late in the fourth quarter.

The field goal unit has struggled all year, whether it be protection up front, playmaking or kicker accuracy. The Rams released long snapper Alex Ward and Karty, inserting Jake McQuaide and Mevis into the lineup.
