According to a report from TeamTalk, Bayern Munich star centre-back Dayot Upamecano is playing on the pitch as his negotiations with the Bavarians have stalled.
The Frenchman, who was reportedly given a deadline (perhaps Sunday) to respond to Bayern Munich’s contract proposal, is now speaking to a long list of clubs, including Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Inter Milan:
Bayern Munich have warned Dayot Upamecano that their contract offer will only remain on the table for weeks, not months, as pressure grows on the defender to make a decision amid strong links with Liverpool and other clubs, TEAMtalk understands.
Bayern are convinced the proposal will not improve and the 27-year-old has been told the club will move forward if he does not commit in the coming weeks.
Upamecano is carefully weighing his options and is fully aware of what he has at his disposal.
According to our sources, talks have already been held with several major clubs outside of Germany, talks that he has the right to hold given his contractual situation.
We can confirm that Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Inter Milan have spoken to Upamecano’s team, and possible terms have been outlined as part of exploratory talks.
Sources close to the situation have told us that, while Bayern remain confident that a new deal can be reached, there is genuine concern within the club at the level of interest being shown, particularly from England, where financial packages could rival or even exceed what Bayern have presented.
Something has to give in these contract negotiations. Bayern Munich have firmly said they will not improve their offer, which could have pushed Upamecano to see what the market could offer him.
