After weeks of links between Liverpool FC goalkeeper Alisson Becker and Juventus, a credible report from MARCA’s Matteo Moretto now says that Alisson and the Italian giants have agreed on personal terms. Liverpool F.C. Last month, Liverpool activated a 12-month extension to keep Alisson at the club until the summer of 2027.
Another report from Tutto Sport speculates that the fee required for Liverpool to part with Ali’s services would be €15m/£13m.
Alisson had previously spoken of his desire to end his contract with Liverpool and return home to Internacional, so this is not exactly unexpected, although it is a little earlier than expected. I’d prefer a little bit of Alisson to no Alisson at all, although his body has obviously been breaking down in recent seasons, so he might fancy a move to a league that’s less intense. Serie A would fit the bill, but Juventus are likely to still play in the Champions League, so I wonder if that’s the right decision for him. Liverpool have already prepared for this with the signing of Mamardashvili, but I hope we can achieve it last year with the saintly goalkeeper.
