Boardman, Ohio (WKBN) – the police responded to what was reported as an accidental shooting in a Boardman business on Wednesday afternoon.
Police were called to the business in Stadium Drive around 3:30 pm, the police said a man was bleeding from a gunshot wound to the right cheek.
The reports said the man jumped and shouted to the police that he shot himself. Police reports said a man’s co -worker told the police that the man grabbed a gun and held it in the head. Police reports said the man told a co -worker: “Let’s say I will not.” The gun shot, and the man was beaten and dropped to the floor, while trying to stop the bleeding, according to the report.
Police said they were told that the man had behaved recklessly with weapons in the past, but that he never showed signs of depression.
The reports said that the man told nurses in the hospital that he was not suicidal and that he fired the weapon by accident.
The man was last figured in a critical condition and underwent emergency surgery in the hospital.
The incident caused the intermediate school of the Boardman Center to be temporarily placed.
