Sean ‘Diddy’ combs tells the judge that he wants to address the court for the first time at his sentence hearing

Sean “Diddy” combs requested to address the court for the first time at his sentence hearing after he was convicted of two positions related to prostitution.

After an eight -week trial, a jury acquitted the 55 -year -old musical tycoon of the most serious conspiracy and sexual trafficking positions, but found him guilty of two transport positions to participate in prostitution.

The rapper did not take the position during the trial, but now he asks to address the court at his sentence hearing on Friday.

“The sentence procedure is significant for Mr. Combs. He wants to appear before the court, address his honor and assign himself in the most dignified and respectful way possible,” said Tey Geragos, one of his lawyers, in a presentation last week.

He also asked his client to be allowed to wear non -prisoner clothes in the sentence.

Diddy “is allowed to have a shirt with buttons, a pair of pants, a sweater and a pair of shoes without laces to wear in court,” Judge Subramanian ordered on Tuesday.

Last Friday, the tycoon appeared before the Court, wearing a disagreement gray beard and a beige prison attire, since their lawyers argued that a new trial or an acquittal should be granted. Subramanian denied those motions on Tuesday.

“Every day, every hour, I approach to return home,” said the rapper, speaking luckily with his friends and family at the audience. “Your support means more than you know.”

Prosecutors are asking the judge to condemn Diddy at 135 months, more than 11 years, after bars.

“Their crimes of conviction are serious and have justified sentences for more than 10 years in multiple cases for the defendants who, as they are combs, participated in the violence and put others in fear,” government lawyers wrote in a presentation.

Throughout the trial, a jury in New York heard a testimony of his former friends and former associates that detail years of domestic abuse, use of drugs and called “fans.”

Cassie Ventura, Diddy’s girlfriend for more than a decade who took the position while she was nine months pregnant, presented a declaration of impact of the three -page victim, urging the judge’s decision to consider “justice and responsibility.” She wrote about the violence she endured in Diddy’s Hands, the “Freak offs” of several days and their control over her career.

She described her relationship with the rapper “A horrible decade of my life stained with abuse, violence, forced sex and degradation.”

Ventura stressed that although he has progressed after his relationship with Diddy ended, he still lives with fear of his “malice,” he wrote.

“In fact, I have transferred my family in the New York area and I keep the most private and quiet as possible because I am very afraid that if you walk free, its first actions will be a rapid remuneration towards me and others who talked about their abuse in the trial,” he reads in the statement.

Mia, the former Diddy assistant who testified under a pseudonym of a pseudonym, presented a three -page victim impact statement. “His coercive control and unpredictable violence left lasting psychological scars: anxiety, hyper surveillance, dissociation, doubts and a continuous struggle to claim my autonomy,” he wrote.

Mia urged the judge to “deliver a sentence that takes into account the continuous danger that my abuser already presents the others. A prayer that honors the truth, pain and lives that have been destroyed. A prayer that gives us hope, protection and justice.”

The Government requested that mine be allowed to read its victim’s impact statement in the sentence.

Diddy’s lawyers have opposed, urging the judge to deny the request. They accused Mia of assuming an “invented voice and behavior” and saying falsehoods about the rapper: “Virtually everything that came out of his mouth was a lie.”
