After the Thunder swept the Rockets, Gilgeous-Alexander even went so far as to congratulate Brooks, calling the Rockets instigator a “very good guy.” The two even shared a hug on the court and some friendly words when the series ended.

But that friendship didn’t last long. On Tuesday, Gilgeous-Alexander posted a photo dump on Instagram showing an image of Brooks wearing a “Cancun on 3” t-shirt.
The legend of Gilgeous-Alexander was also a nod to Brooks’ villainous persona.
Brooks definitely noticed the post and responded by saying, “Sounds like a ghostwriter.” Brooks signed that comment with “The Villain.” Rapper Drake also commented, because of course he did.Overall, this feud, if you can call it that, seems pretty uneventful, especially considering Brooks’ history.
Despite Brooks’ presence, Gilgeous-Alexander still managed to put up excellent numbers in the Thunder’s four-game sweep of the Suns. Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 33.8 points in the series… and refused to participate in Brooks’ trolling tactics.

With the Thunder moving forward, Gilgeous-Alexander can now focus on leading the team to back-to-back titles. After dominating the regular season and playoffs last year, the Thunder had an equally strong showing this season, once again earning first place in the Western Conference.
While Brooks and the Suns had a good year, the team finished as the eighth seed in the playoffs, meaning the road will only get tougher for Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder from here on out.
