The Sixers will have Paul George returning Wednesday after a 25-game suspension for violating the league’s anti-drug policy, but when will Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey return?

Embiid hasn’t played since Feb. 26 due to a right oblique strain. The Sixers will need the big boy to return sooner rather than later so Philadelphia can get everyone on the same page heading into the stretch.
“He was on the court again today (Monday),” coach Nick Nurse said. “Had a decent workout again today as part of target practice. Then he did his workout after shootaround. We have another one, I think I would consider it a more intense session tomorrow. Then we’ll see where he is.”
Maxey will be re-evaluated at the end of March for the right finger tendon strain he has been suffering from. He has been out since March 7. He has been training primarily with his left hand, but on Monday morning he was seen using his right hand in target practice.
“Pretty good,” the nurse said of Maxey. “He’s working pretty hard. He’s doing some decent workouts. He’s moving around a lot. He’s doing some workouts primarily with his left hand. He’s taken some shots with his right hand. I think he has another evaluation here this weekend or early next weekend. So, hopefully, we’ll be at the 3-week mark and we’ll see from there. I know it’s the three-week low and we’ll see where he is from there.”

Nurse and the Sixers will continue to try to stay afloat until their top stars can return to the court.
