Coming into the season, the Aggie offense looked like the team’s strength, especially with transfers Chris Hacopian, Wesley Jordan and Jake Duer joining the lineup, all coming off impressive seasons, even though Duer’s 2025 campaign was shortened due to injury. Combined with the return of star hitter Gavin Grahovac, the Texas A&M offense recorded an impressive 18 hits, 14 RBIs and three home runs.

On the mound, making his first start in nearly two years, junior left-hander Shane Sdao didn’t flinch, finishing with five strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings, allowing seven hits, walking no ones and throwing 83 pitches. While half of Tennessee Tech’s running game came down to a three-run home run, Sdao can rest easy tonight and continue to improve as the season progresses.
Caden Sorrell’s performance was unsurprising given his elite talent, displaying his MLB-level power at the plate, while his patience and experience, along with his injury-based adversity last season, puts him in contention for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft.
With three hits in six at-bats, the Highland Village (TX) native has already established himself as a consistent home run threat, but his patience at the plate and increased focus on getting a hit rather than destroying the ball will help A&M’s offense find more consistency, especially as competition heats up after this weekend’s series.
Chris Hacopian is already one of the most polished hitters in the county, producing three hits and two runs, making Sorrell, Hacopian and Gavin Grahovac an extremely dangerous lineup that could take the Aggies back to the College World Series.
