According to court records obtained by local Louisville media, Brian Mandel, 38, of Corpus Christi, Texas, faces six counts of terroristic threats and one count of extortion over $10,000. He was indicted by a grand jury and an arrest warrant was issued Monday.

The charges relate to threats Mandel allegedly made after Louisville’s 29-26 overtime loss to California on Saturday. The nature of the threats was reportedly unclear from court records. According to Louisville’s WAVE, the alleged extortion attempt targeted Moss.
Mandel faces $100,000 bail, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal.
Louisville condemned the threats in a statement released by Louisville athletic director Josh Heird on Monday night.
We are aware of the recent allegation of an individual who issued threats directed at our football coach, his wife and children, members of his coaching staff, and student-athletes. The safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community remain our top priority.
We commend law enforcement for their quick and decisive action in addressing this matter. Threats of violence have no place in our community or in sports, and we will continue to work closely with authorities to ensure a safe environment for all.
