Texas Tech QB Behren Morton ruled out after receiving a hard blow against Utah

After the 34-10 Victoria of Texas Tech over Utah on Saturday, Chief coach Joey McGuare provided a health update on the Behren Morton field marshal.

“It’s fine. I was in the locker room, he gave me a big hug,” McGuare said. “It is always difficult. That blow he received, I know that everyone saw it, but that was a great success. We entered and evaluated it, returned and said ‘hey, he is doing very, very good, he is in a good place.’ So, feel good, we are lucky to have a week of goodbye …

“I know he’s frustrated because he wants to be there and wants to be the guy who guides us in the field, but he will return and be ready to start.”

Morton left in the third quarter of Saturday afternoon against Utah after receiving a blow to the head of the supporter Johnathan Hall.

Morton came out of pocket in a second and 28 near his own score zone. He made just over 10 yards before trying to slide. Hall then made contact with Morton’s helmet and shoulder on the impact.

Morton stayed still in the field for a moment after the blow before he helped him stand up. The fifth year field seafood swing and clung to the collar of the Davion Carter guard shirt to stay vertically.

He was evaluated by officials and coaches before leaving the field under his own power. Then he walked to the locker room.

Morton was removed from the game before in the second quarter after being beaten in a delayed transfer. Cameron Dickey corridor took Morton’s ball when the quartback was presented by a Utah defender.

The officials required that Morton was evaluated apart, but he returned two plays later.

Morton had thrown two interceptions and looked for the ball in a sack before leaving the game in the third quarter.

With Morton Out, the first year student of Red T -shirt Will Hammond took over the field marshal for the Red Raiders.
