The Brooklyn Nets Take Boston To Double Overtime, But The Celtics Survive And Win 130-126 (PHOTOS)

The Boston Celtics may not have expected a fight when they faced the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center on Friday night (Jan. 23), but they got one and then some. An early lax attitude from Boston set the tone against a desperate Nets team, still smarting from a crushing loss to their crosstown rivals, the New York Knicks, the Celtics needing not one but two extra periods to defeat a determined Brooklyn team.

Boston held Brooklyn to just 30% from beyond the arc while hitting 43% of its shots from deep, and won the shot attempt battle 109-95, but lost the rebounding battle 58-41 with Neemias Queta and Luka Garza fouling out in regulation. The ball moved for the Celtics with 35 total assists to the Nets’ 22, and Boston forced 18 Brooklyn turnovers, causing the C’s to turn the ball over just 9 times.
