LeBron James will not go anywhere, after all. At least not.

The announcement that the Los Angeles Lakers star had joked on Monday, October 6 fed the speculation that he could address his future and possible retirement plans. It turned out to be an ad.

James and Hennessy launched a limited edition cognac bottle with their name on Tuesday, October 7. The collaboration came through an advertising campaign called “The Second Decision”, referring to his special televised infamous of July 2010 in which he announced that he would join the Miami Heat in the free agency. James also wrote on Monday in the teaser that this would be “the decision of all decisions.”

The association between James and Hennessy began in 2024, and the last campaign focuses on its “song” gesture that often uses to celebrate large plays.

In the bottle, there is an image of James by placing an imaginary crown in his head.

“It is an honor to continue this association with Hennessy,” James said Tuesday in a press release issued by Hennessy. “Our first collection was about a shared search for excellence and thrust of limits, and this new limited edition is another chapter in that story. The design presents my coronation gesture, which is special for me and represents the celebration and connection. For that this bottle is made for this.”

James, who will turn 41 in December, will enter his record 23 in the NBA.

During the availability of the Lakers media day on Monday, September 29, James went to his future, although he evaded to provide an exact timeline.

“I am excited about the opportunity to play the game I love for another season,” James said. “However, the trip presents this year, I am super inverted, because I don’t know when the end is. I know it is much sooner rather than later.”

Despite his age, James is still one of the main players of the NBA. In 70 appearances last season, he averaged 24.4 points, 8.2 assists, 7.8 rebounds and 1.0 robberies per game.

It is the top scorer of all NBA times with 42,184 running points and has many other NBA records.
