Based on the video images of the Hotel del Altercado on early Saturday and the statement of the driver to the Police, an affidavit of the police alleges that Sánchez, who smelled of alcohol, approached the driver of a cash truck that returned to the loading docks of a hotel, which led to a confrontation outside the vehicle that led the driver to defensively remove a knife.

Sánchez was hospitalized with a white weapon wounds in the upper right torso, said the affidavit signed by a police detective. Sanchez remained hospitalized early, according to the police. The truck driver, identified as PT, had a cut on the left cheek, he said.
Sanchez was in stable conditions, said Fox Sports on Saturday. There was no immediate update on Sunday.
His initial judicial hearing was scheduled for Tuesday in a Marion County Chamber.
Sánchez stabbed several times
As the altercation intensified, the driver feared “‘This guy is trying to kill me'” and pulled his knife when Sánchez approached him, the affidavit said. Sánchez was initially stabbed two or three times, then stabbed again when he returned to the driver again, he said.

“The next thing PT knew was that Mr. Sánchez looked at him with a shock, slowly turned around and Mr. Sánchez went north in the alley,” the document said.
Sánchez was in Indianapolis to call the game of the Raiders Coolts on Sunday. Instead, he was accused of drums that resulted in injuries, the unauthorized entrance of a motorized vehicle and public poisoning, all minor crimes. Police received an order to obtain the telephone and clothes of Sanchez from the hospital, said the document.
There were no immediate court records that indicate whether Sánchez still had legal representation.
Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears said his office “would follow the facts and the law wherever they lead.”

“What began as a disagreement between a former 38 -year -old professional athlete and a 69 -year -old man should not have intensified in violence or left anyone seriously injured,” Mears said in a statement.
Fox Sports announcers recognize Sánchez’s absence on Sunday
Sánchez told the police in the hospital that everything he could remember was to grab a window, said the judicial document. Sanchez said he didn’t know who was more involved or where the altercation occurred.
“On Friday night in Indianapolis, one of the members of our team, Mark Sánchez, was involved in an incident that, to be honest, we are still trying to conclude the head,” Curt Menefee said Sunday in the main show prior to Fox’s NFL. “At this time, our thoughts and sentences are with Mark and his family and all those involved.”

Fox Sports Play-By-Play announcer Chris Myers, also recognized Sánchez’s absence on Sunday before presenting Sánchez’s replacement, Brady Quinn. Myers said he wanted to send thoughts and prayers to Sánchez and all those involved in the incident.
Police officers found Sánchez with the wounds of a white weapon when they were sent to a pub from the center around 12:35 am on Saturday. The truck driver was found in the alley.
The details of the confrontation were revealed in the affidavit, based on video images and the truck driver’s statement to the police.
The video showed a man to believe that Sánchez was running in the alley towards the truck, the affidavit said. The driver works for a company that specializes in recycling and elimination of commercial cooking oil, and his job duties was performed, he said.

Sánchez opened the truck door and started talking to the driver, said the affidavit. Sánchez told the driver that he could not be on the cargo dock and that Sánchez had talked to the hotel manager, the document said. Sánchez smelled of alcohol and his speech was dragged, the driver told the police.
Affidavit says that Sanchez threw a truck driver to land
Sanchez followed the driver from side to the truck, said the judicial document. When the driver threw himself towards the driver’s door, the video showed Sánchez “grabbing and throwing” the driver to the wall of a hotel, he said. The fight continued against a garbage container and Sanchez threw the driver to the ground, he said.
Sanchez went up to the truck, but came out when the driver told him that he was not allowed to enter, he said. Sanchez repeated that he spoke with a manager and did not want the driver to replace the frying oil, according to the document. Sanchez tried again to enter the truck and blocked the driver to call his manager, he said.

Believing that he was in danger, the driver grabbed the pepper spray from his pocket and sprayed Sánchez’s face, he said. Sánchez cleaned his face and advanced towards the driver again, he said.
Then, the driver pulled his knife and stabbed Sánchez when the former tram reached him, he said. The driver fell on palettes on the ground, he told the police.
“While PT was on the floor, he could only see Mr. Sánchez’s feet approaching him, causing PT to realize that he was in a life or death situation,” said the affidavit.
The driver stood up and stabbed Sanchez the last time when Sánchez did, he said.
