Indianapolis police accused Sánchez, 38, of injury battery, illegal entry of a motorized vehicle and public poisoning, all minor crimes. Sanchez is still in the hospital and was not reserved in the county prison, police said in a statement, added that Marion County Prosecutor will make decisions for charges.
The prosecutor did not immediately return a request for comments.
An previous statement from the Indianapolis Police said that two men were in a “physical disturbance” in the center of Indianapolis around 12:30 am, and one received wounds from a white weapon and the other cuts. A Fox Sports statement said Sánchez was in a stable condition in the hospital.
Police said the fight was “an isolated incident between the two men and not a random act of violence.” The name of the other man was not released. Indianapolis police do not identify victims or suspects “unless the suspect is arrested, accused or sought,” said the statement.

It was scheduled to cover the Sunday game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Las Vegas Raiders, according to Fox Sports. “We are deeply grateful to the medical team for exceptional attention and support,” the network said in a statement published in X.
“Sending our thoughts and love to Mark Sánchez and his family. Waiting for a quick recovery, 6,” the jets said, referring to their shirt number.
