The Home Depot® Consumer Credit Card fails when it comes to rewarding frequent Home Depot shoppers because you don’t earn any rewards on purchases and have very few additional benefits. Additionally, as a store credit card, you can only use this card at The Home Depot or HomeDepot.com locations.
We recommend checking out the best home improvement credit cards for better rewards, benefits, and flexibility.
- Benefits
- No interest if paid in full within promotional period on qualifying purchases
- Up to 24 months of financing during special promotions
- $0 liability for unauthorized charges
There is no interest rate on any eligible purchase of $299 or more if the balance is paid within six months.
Cardholders may occasionally receive deferred interest promotional offers. For example, you may receive a special no interest promotion if you pay your balance in full within 12 months. The duration of these offers could range from six to 24 months.
The Home Depot Consumer Credit Card doesn’t earn rewards.

There is no rewards program with the Home Depot credit card, so you can’t redeem rewards.
The Home Depot Consumer Credit Card only makes sense if you’re interested in special financing offers, especially if you make frequent purchases of $299 or more at The Home Depot. Otherwise this is not a great card.
There are many better credit card signup bonuses available and you can get interest-free offers with 0% APR credit cards.
Some of the biggest drawbacks to the Home Depot credit card are that you don’t earn rewards and you can only use it on Home Depot purchases, whether in-store or online. If you are looking for a simple card that will reward you for your everyday purchases, this is not the right card for you. A rewards credit card would make a lot more sense.
The Home Depot Consumer Credit Card is a store card that can only be used at Home Depot stores and HomeDepot.com. This is in contrast to cash back credit cards, which can be used almost anywhere credit cards are accepted.
