President Donald Trump says he has no idea who the money-laundering crypto billionaire he pardoned really is. Last month, Trump pardoned Binance founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, who pleaded guilty to money laundering violations that allowed criminal groups to move money related to drug trafficking and child abuse. The pardon came just months after Binance, a cryptocurrency exchange, reached a $2 billion deal in partnership with the Trump family’s cryptocurrency company, World Liberty Financial.
